Kari Samantha (born April 28th, 1967) Wuhrer is an American actress and performer. Wuhrer's career began as she was still a teenager. Her most notable role is Maggie Beckett, an actress in the film Sliders as well as her character Sheriff Samantha Parker from the horror comedy Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer is the daughter of Karin Noble (nee Noble) working as an accountant for payroll and German American Andrew Wuhrer (a car dealer and police officer). The youngest of three children. When she was in her teens, she performed at nightclubs in the dark, escaping from home. After studying acting at the Wooster School from the age of 13, she pursued a degree in drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under renowned Uta Hagen. Born in Brookfield Connecticut on April 28 her birthplace, she was raised there. Her mother is a payroll accountant and her father, German-American, is a policeman and automobile salesperson. Kari has 3 siblings. In her teens was a nightclub singer, she would sing as she slipped out for performances. Kari was 13 years old when she started acting lessons at Wooster School. In the following years, Kari enrolled at Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College. Kari began her journey into acting at the age of 13 and got her first big break in 1987 on MTV Remote Control.
