Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz (born 10 January 1993), known professionally as Rauw Alejandro is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He has been called the "King of modern Reggaeton".[2][3] He belongs to the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. The album he released his debut, Afrodisiaco (studio album) was released in November 2020. Vice Versa was his second studio album. The lead single, "Todo de Ti", was released in June 2021. Two Latin Grammy Awards have been taken home by him from 12 nominations. Raul Alejandro Olasio-Ruiz was conceived in San Juan (Puerto Rico) on the 10th of January 1993. His family was born in Carolina and Canovanas. [4][5] Alejandro's father and guitarist Raul Ocasio Ruiz, and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz (backing vocalist) introduced him to a variety of his musical influences like Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley as well as Chris Brown. Alejandro and his father resided for many years in the United States. They mainly resided in New York City and Miami. 7] 8 Alejandro and his fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA are childhood buddies; they both went to the same school and attended classes together. [9][10] Alejandro was a gifted dancer in his youth and was an active participant in talent shows. After completing high school, he began his studies at University of Puerto Rico. He played soccer between the ages of six and twenty. But , he resigned, saying he could not be as effective as he had hoped. To be a scout for the Premier Development League (PDL), he moved to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's music style is Latin R&B and reggaeton. He also enjoys dance music and rhythmic pop. Billboard said that his music has "set him distinct" from the growing band of Reggaetones who are influenced by pop. [23] He was influenced early on by Presley and Jackson as well as later on by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, as well as Chris Brown. [24He also credits Ciara for being his musical inspiration.
